Translating Vision Into Action

Updated: Jan 5

In 2023, Lodha Ventures Foundation has impacted the lives of over 20,000 people

2023 has truly been a transformative year for Lodha Ventures Foundation. From providing healthcare services and quality education to taking steps towards environmental sustainability and eco-consciousness, the Foundation’s commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of underserved communities has driven the team to initiate various activities, each contributing to their vision of fostering growth and well-being.

Mobile Medical Unit

LVF’s Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) stands as a beacon of hope, bringing vital healthcare services to the doorsteps of 23 villages in Dapoli. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including a software app to store patient information and plan community programs, the MMU is a fully-fledged healthcare facility on wheels serving over 10,000 beneficiaries last year.

Whether it is conducting informative sessions on dental hygiene or organising awareness programs for young girls on menstrual hygiene, through its 673 activities, the MMU aims to promote better health practices and empower villagers with knowledge for effective health management.

Moreover, regular general health checkups by the MMU team also ensure early identification of health concerns, allowing for timely medical intervention. In these checkups, vital signs are measured, common illnesses are screened for, and health complaints are addressed while also providing essential medications to those in need, ensuring accessibility for all. The team also organises specialised screening camps such as eye screening, haemoglobin screening, dental screening, etc.

Vision India Initiative

A pioneering project initiated by Yashvi Lodha, in association with Lodha Ventures Foundation, the Vision India initiative is making significant strides in providing crucial eye health care services to children residing in Mumbai's underserved communities.

Launched on October 3, 2023, this undertaking has already begun to cast a profound impact on the lives of young beneficiaries aged between 0 and 17 years. By March 2024, Vision India Initiative aims to provide comprehensive eye care services to 18,000 children in Mumbai.

In just three months, the team has conducted eye camps in 20 schools and 6 Anganwadis across Mumbai, reaching about 10,918 children through comprehensive eye screening. Over 1535 children are set to receive prescription spectacles, helping them lead healthier and more productive lives. Additionally, 646 Children have been referred to KBHB Hospital for further treatment.

Smart Class

The Smart Class Program was launched to enhance education and reduce dropout rates. The Digital Classroom, equipped with advanced features, provides an interactive learning environment beneficial to children. The Inception of the Smart Class Program in March 2023 aimed to provide enhanced educational infrastructure. The project under this initiative was the establishment of a Digital Classroom at Composite School, located in Majha Tihura Village in Uttar Pradesh, (Ayodhya) India. The Digital Classroom is  equipped with various features to ensure a safe and technologically advanced learning environment by introducing tech such as an interactive Android screen.

World Environment Month

Throughout June, LVF’s World Environment Month initiatives showcased the power of collective action. From beach clean-ups to tree plantation drives, the employees of Lodha Ventures actively participated in making a positive impact on the environment. The Plastic Revolution and Green Sale activities showcased the team’s commitment to sustainability and their fight against reducing plastic pollution.

A tree plantation drive in Padale Village, Dapoli, brought together various community members, emphasising collective commitment to environmental conservation. A total of 200 cash crop plants were sponsored by LVF, supporting sustainable livelihoods.

Safety Training

Lodha Ventures Foundation's dedication to improving Safety Training for workers in the informal sector has been a cornerstone of their initiatives. The team recognized the need for such training due to limited access in rural and semi-rural areas, overcoming education gaps, and fostering community engagement.

The Work Safety Training Team operated in Dapoli, Neral, Goa, and Alibaug, conducting sessions on accident prevention and first aid. Through proactive measures, LVF positively impacted the lives of many workers, bridging the gap between formal and informal labour sectors.

Atal Aahar Yojana

Atal Aahar Yojana under BOCW Act at Neral shows LVF’s commitment to improving access to high-quality, free food for workers. Lunch and dinner for 140 construction workers in April 2023 marked the beginning of this ongoing initiative.

This initiative has addressed the limited access to hygienic and nutritious food, providing support to workers belonging to below poverty line families.

This year, Lodha Ventures Foundation is poised to introduce a Mobile Medical Unit in Neral, aimed at providing essential healthcare services to remote and underserved rural areas in the region. The Foundation is also actively conducting comprehensive need assessments in Ayodhya, Neral, Alibaug, and Goa. This meticulous analysis aims to ascertain the specific requirements of these communities, enabling the foundation to tailor its projects to address the identified needs effectively.
