The Language of Colours

Colours have the power to directly influence the soul

Colours compliment design, if matched properly. While the hues have the power to make or break a design, they can also greatly impact your mood on entering a space. The exact moment we live and the feelings we experience too depend on a design derived from the universe.

Colours, when combined with design can enhance several moods including sadness, joy, anger, etc. This is called colour psychology.

Colour Representation

For instance, blue colour is often described as peaceful, tranquil, secure, and orderly. Using shades of blue in your living room brings prosperity, serenity, stability and wisdom. It is believed to stimulate good luck and bring vibrancy to our homes. Try and use this colour to get maximum benefit.

When you think of a pure, peaceful and serene colour, white is what comes to our minds. The white colour stands for dignity, innocence and calmness. Adding white curtains can give your home positive vibes and will make you feel happy and satisfied. White sheets or throws can also give an effect of softness and make you feel peaceful.

Dark tones of green can make rooms feel tremendously soothing and relaxing. This is because the higher the intensity of green, the more it brings nature closer to our busy city lives. However, if widely used, dark green might create a sense of gloom in the interiors.

Thus adding colour to you interior design plans can create a refreshing mind and peaceful life. Design and colours are therefore used as a combination in Vaastu compliant homes today.

Adding Artefacts

Colourful artefacts will give your house a very good look and feel. Add artefacts which you relate to the most and resembles your personality to give it a more personalised touch.

Wall paintings are also a powerful tool to manifest your desires. Each painting conveys an emotion and has certain elements representing it. Its placement is decided accordingly. For example, a village scene is a powerful Vaastu remedy to get your own house. Since it represents gain, ideally it should be placed on a wall to the west of the house.

Similarly, a painting depicting nature and its elements such as air represents growth. So, it can be placed in towards the north, which is the Vaastu zone believed to be for new opportunities.

Your space represents your soul and its design should not be integrated without some sort of meaning. So think twice before choosing a colour for your home as it can be life-altering.
