Lodha Ventures Foundation: Making A Difference

Updated: Sep 1, 2023

The Lodha Ventures Foundation is providing free healthcare facilities to rural communities in Dapoli, and has donated basic necessities to the less privileged

As author Mary Anne Radmacher said, “As we work to create light for others, we naturally light our own way.” Last year, we brightened countless lives. As part of the company’s philanthropic efforts, the Lodha Ventures Foundation launched free healthcare facilities for the underprivileged rural communities near Dapoli, Maharashtra, we organised a donation drive which was a resounding success and our Diwali pop-up saw a huge footfall. We also did our bit to mitigate climate change by planting trees.

After phenomenal response to our Isle of Bliss project by The House of Abhinandan Lodha in Dapoli, we couldn’t turn a blind eye to the lack of basic medical amenities in the nearby communities. In a bid to rectify this, The Lodha Ventures Foundation led by Ms Sheetal Lodha launched a fully-equipped Mobile Medical Unit in September. The van, manned by two medical staff and a support staff, tours 22 surrounding villages providing basic medical services to the needy; we also work with local health centres and gram panchayats. We aim to reach out to and help over 20,000 residents of these villages.

Additionally, the medical team conducts regular health camps and awareness sessions around nutrition for a more proactive approach towards health. Till now, 12 such sessions have been conducted where our staff has counselled over 400 needy families.

During the festive season, we endeavoured to make a difference in however small way we could. The donation drive helped us collect 51 kg clothes, 23 kg stationary, 6 kg utensils and 10 kg toys. These have been donated to the Missionaries of Charity – an NGO that works with orphaned kids, the destitute and needy women.

At the Diwali pop-up, NGOs that work with the unfortunate set up stalls for handmade artefacts and gift items in a bid to give them a renewed chance of a sustained livelihood. They sold items worth Rs 36,650 – an impressive amount given that the sale was live only for one day.

It was our concerted efforts that we collectively were able to bring about lasting change in countless lives.
