This World Environment Day, LVF paved the way towards a greener future

The time for change is now. World Environment Day serves as a reminder that we are not mere bystanders in the face of environmental challenges, but catalysts for change.

In the pursuit of a common goal to safeguard our planet for generations to come, Lodha Ventures Foundation took up initiatives such as beach clean-ups, tree plantations, plastic recycling to advocating sustainable alternatives, to paving the way towards a greener and more sustainable future. Here's a glimpse of the impactful activities we conducted:

Beach Clean-Up

Our beach clean-up drive focused on the beautiful shores of Anjarle and Padale beaches in Dapoli. With unwavering dedication, a total of 133 individuals joined forces to remove litter, restore the beaches, and promote a cleaner environment. The participation included 24 villagers from Anjarle village, 18 villagers from Padale village, along with a few gram panchayat members and Bachat Gat women. Furthermore, our site employees and workers actively contributed to the cleanup, showcasing the power of community involvement.

Tree Plantation Drive

Understanding the significance of green cover, we organized tree plantation drives at Dapoli, Neral, and Goa. Our team members from The House of Abhinandan Lodha took part enthusiastically, planting tree saplings, including indigenous species, to restore the ecosystem and create sustainable habitats. In Neral, we successfully planted 12 trees and 400 shrubs, with 15 employees actively participating. In Dapoli, 8 trees were planted by 5 employees. Additionally, we also organised a similar plantation drive in Goa where 70 trees were planted in HoABL's site premises.

Plastic Revolution

Addressing the urgent issue of growing plastic waste, we organized a recycling and upcycling activity, namely Plastic Revolution. Employees at Lodha Ventures and HoABL actively contributed by bringing in plastic items, which were then sorted accordingly. Some of the items were shared with Sampurn(e)Earth organization to be upcycled into useful products, while the remaining plastic was sent for recycling. This activity not only helped reduce our environmental footprint but also raised awareness about responsible waste management.

The Green Fair

As part of our ongoing sustainability initiatives, we collaborated with Goonj NGO. Under their Green By Goonj initiatives, they set up a stall showcasing cloth bags and articles made from upcycled materials. Our employees showed tremendous support by making purchases worth over Rs. 10,000, directly contributing to the NGO's work. These articles including cloth bags, folders, purses, and name tags, crafted by beneficiaries of Goonj, exemplify the transformative power of upcycling and sustainable practices.

Committing to Environmental Sustainability

In an effort to inspire sustainable actions, we conducted a pledge activity on World Environment Day. Employees passionately posted their pledges towards going zero waste and committed to various environmental initiatives, including reducing their carbon footprint and promoting sustainable transportation. These pledges reflect our collective dedication to creating a more sustainable future.

Aside from these initiatives, awareness rallies and waste collection drives were also organised at HoABL's Imperial Goa project site by the teams deployed their for development of the region.

Through collective action this World Environment Day, we have demonstrated that small steps can lead to significant change. Let us continue to uphold these values and actively work towards a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable future. Remember, every effort counts, and together, we can make a lasting positive impact on the environment.
