Lodha Ventures Foundation: Planting Hope

Updated: Oct 6, 2023

LVF's tree plantation drive is a step towards environmental sustainability in Dapoli

Sustainability is not a luxury. It's a necessity. With this belief, Lodha Ventures Foundation on August 11, 2023, organised a tree plantation drive at Padale village in Dapoli, Maharashtra. People from over 100 communities residing in and around the village took part in planting 200 fruit-bearing trees, which will not only support the environment but also their livelihoods.

These trees included 50 coconuts trees, 50 mango trees, 50 supari plants and 50 cashew nut trees, all sponsored by LVF. The initiative was a huge success as it brought together a diverse group of participants from different walks of life, highlighting their collective commitment towards environmental conservation.

Among the over 100 attendees, five people were the staff from The House of Abhinandan Lodha's project site in Dapoli, who also ensured the smooth execution of the campaign. The village's governance was well-represented during the drive, with six gram panchayat members, including the Sarpanch and Vice-Sarpanch, demonstrating their leadership and support. Furthermore, seven members from a Women Self-Help Group of Padale Village displayed their unwavering dedication towards adopting sustainable practices.

While the true strength of the event was visible through the participation of 82 villagers, who, in large numbers, reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the environment through tree planting, the presence of the Gram Sewak of Padale Village emphasised the community's unity and shared responsibility in nurturing the environment.

This tree plantation campaign was symbolic of Padale Village's determination to create a greener, healthier future for all its residents, showcasing the power of collective action in the pursuit of sustainability.
