Bringing Vision and Hope to Neral and Dapoli

The stories of Suvarna, Pramila, Mangesh, and Anjali highlight the transformative power of accessible healthcare.

The Sheetal Lodha Foundation has recently made significant strides in enhancing eye care services in the rural areas of Neral and Dapoli. The foundation organized specialized eye camps in Dapoli's Kolthare village and Neral's Anthrat and Pimploli villages, offering crucial eye care services to local communities where access to healthcare is often limited.

The eye camp in Dapoli benefited 55 individuals, while the camp in Neral provided eye care to 138 people. Those with severe eye conditions were referred to nearby hospitals for further treatment. The initiative was highly valued by the local communities, particularly the elderly, who received comprehensive examinations and treatment recommendations that improved their vision. Attendees noted the professionalism and kindness of the doctors, making the experience smooth and reassuring.

Renewed Hope

Suvarna Kalan, a 50-year-old resident of Pimploli, Neral, had been struggling with deteriorating vision for years. Her husband's job as a daily wage laborer barely met their needs, leaving Suvarna to manage the household and care for their children and elderly parents. The lack of access to proper medical care meant Suvarna had to endure her vision problems in silence.

The turning point came when the Sheetal Lodha Foundation's Mobile Medical Unit visited Pimploli. Encouraged by her family, Suvarna attended the camp, where doctors conducted a detailed eye examination and educated her on proper eye care. She was referred to a local hospital in Neral for further treatment.

"Before my eye checkup, I had accepted my poor eyesight as a permanent part of my life. Now, I have renewed hope and will undergo treatment. I am very thankful to the Sheetal Lodha Foundation for providing this service," said Suvarna.

A New Lease on Life

Pramila Sonavane, a 42-year-old mother of three from Kalichawadi, Neral, had been experiencing worsening vision for years. Her husband's income as a farm laborer barely sustained the family, making it difficult for Pramila to seek medical help. The constant strain on her eyes led to frequent headaches and fatigue.

The Sheetal Lodha Foundation's Mobile Medical Unit brought hope for Pramila. The medical team diagnosed her with severe myopia and referred her to a local hospital in Neral. Pramila looks forward to her treatment and the improvement in her vision, hoping to perform her daily tasks without struggle and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.

"I am thankful to the Sheetal Lodha Foundation for helping us through the eye checkup camp. I have hope that after my treatment, my headaches will cease, and I might live a better life," expressed Pramila.

Restored Independence

Mangesh Ganpat Koltharkar, a 60-year-old farmer from Anjarle, Dapoli, had been struggling with deteriorating vision due to cataracts in both eyes. When he learned about the Sheetal Lodha Foundation's eye care camp in Kashele, he saw a glimmer of hope.

The medical team diagnosed Mangesh with advanced cataracts and advised immediate surgery. The possibility of regaining his vision filled him with hope and gratitude.

"Thanks to the Sheetal Lodha Foundation, I can see a future where I can regain my vision and independence. I’m grateful for this chance to get my cataract treated," said Mangesh.

A Brighter Future

Anjali Ajit Jadhav, a 68-year-old woman from Aade, Dapoli, had been facing multiple health challenges, including hypertension and diabetes, compounded by a cataract in her left eye. Despite her struggles, Anjali remained active and involved in her household.

The Sheetal Lodha Foundation's Mobile Medical Unit brought new hope to Anjali. The medical team diagnosed her with a cataract and recommended surgery at the local hospital. This diagnosis was a turning point for Anjali, offering the prospect of improved vision and quality of life.

"Thanks to the Sheetal Lodha Foundation, I am hopeful that my cataract surgery will improve my vision and quality of life. I am deeply thankful for their support," said Anjali.

The Sheetal Lodha Foundation's eye care camps have profoundly impacted the lives of individuals in Neral and Dapoli. By providing comprehensive eye examinations, treatment referrals, and education on eye health, the foundation has brought hope and improved the quality of life for many. The stories of Suvarna, Pramila, Mangesh, and Anjali highlight the transformative power of accessible healthcare, underscoring the foundation's vital role in these communities.
